Placenta Capsules $300
Placentas capsules are made with dried, finely ground placenta. They are commonly consumed during the postpartum, but can also be saved for other times of transition, such as puberty or menopause. Placenta capsules can help increased iron levels, production of breastmilk, your general energy and the speed of your recovery time after birth. It can also decrease the likelihood of postpartum mood disorders, insomnia or sleep disorders. There are two types of preparation methods: Traditional Chinese Method (TCM) and Raw Foods Method (RFM).
Kindly note, I will only be offering the steamed, Traditional Chinese Method of preparation during COVID-19 pandemic.
Traditional Chinese Method (Steamed)
TCM: This method utilizes steam as a way to sterilize the placenta before dehydration. It is first washed, then steamed with select herbs and transferred to a dehydrator to be dried for 24+ hours at a high heat. Due to allergens, I will only steam with herbs unless special arrangements are coordinated with you ahead of time. TCM is suggested if you prefer warm foods when healing or recovering. This is the required preparation method when Group B Strep test results are positive to prevent reintroducing the Group B Strep bacteria into your body. This method is recommended if you have anxiety or you are concerned about postpartum mood disorders.
Raw Foods Method (Raw)
RFM: This method bypasses the steaming process prior to dehydration. The placenta is washed, then placed directly into the dehydrator. RFM is much stronger than TCM and will also yield the highest amount of capsules. FRM method is suggested if you prefer cold foods when healing or recovering, or if you already follow a raw foods diet or prefer the freshest hormonal benefits of placenta encapsulation. This method is not recommended if you have a history of anxiety, insomnia or hyperthyroidism.
Yield: Your placenta will yield anywhere from 90-150 capsules depending on the size of your placenta and the size of your baby at birth.
Dosage: Placental capsules are a gentle, mild dose of placenta taken several times per day initially then decreased as your postpartum weeks pass.
Storage: If stored properly in the provided BPA free container, your leftover capsules are good indefinitely. I highly recommend placing your capsules in the freezer to ensure the safest short- and long-term storage. The potency will decrease as time passes but these can be safely stored for many years, making a suitable remedy during puberty and menopause. Always check to be sure your capsules are dry before consuming.
